From Yaktown Swagger to Strategic Revolution

Born in Pontiac, a suburb of Detroit that Midwest confidence runs deep. At 16, moved to Tennessee where my Detroit swagger was seen as "threatening", apparently, confident girls of color made folks uncomfortable. The way I carried myself, spoke up, and took space was labeled "problematic" by people who weren't used to our energy.

But that experience made me into a fighter in more ways than I want to admit. The key wasn't how I fought - it was learning how to fight smart. Learning that my voice, my presence, my refusal to shrink wasn't the problem. The systems trying to contain me were.

Started in corporate at 20, worked my way up for two decades building systems that saved companies millions. But visiting Whitney Plantation broke me open - hearing about an enslaved boy grateful for breadcrumbs made me realize I was accepting crumbs from systems never built for us.

No more breadcrumbs.

Rooted and Raised

Despite growing up navigating real challenges, Kara is proof that your story doesn’t define your limit. She transformed her pain into power and has become a fierce advocate for girls who feel unseen. Kara is a firm believer that you don’t have to wait to be chosen you get to choose yourself.

No matter what systems tried to hold you back, you can always rewrite the narrative. You can SHIFT into exactly who you were born to be.

Living the Work

A powerhouse founder, mentor, mother, and visionary leader, Kara is the Executive Director of The F.I.N.D. Design, a nationally recognized nonprofit uplifting girls of color. She’s also the Co-Founder of DreamSuite, a platform designed to help changemakers scale their missions with clarity and ease. Her current projects are all about unlocking systems that actually work for people of color especially women—while giving them the tools to build, lead, and thrive with purpose.

Vision Forward

BIG, RADICAL, AUDACIOUS DREAMS. Kara doesn’t just dream big, she builds big. Sit with her long enough, and you’ll walk away with a whole new blueprint for your life. She’s taking her movement national, scaling DreamSuite into the go-to hub for social impact leaders, and creating ecosystems rooted in joy and justice. She’s also planning to launch a capital fund for Black girl-led ventures, support other nonprofit founders, and spend part of the year working remotely surrounded by warmth, rest, and inspiration.

Building Tables, Not Begging for Seats

Building a Liberation Empire - multiple businesses, global speaking platform, best-selling books that Oprah will read, and systems that create generational change.

Not just wealth for me, but pathways for our communities to thrive without begging for scraps.

My goal isn't to get a seat at tables that were never built for us. My goal is to become the philanthropist who can invest in those in proximity to the work - not just financially, but especially emotionally and mentally - so they can be the leaders they were called to be.

I'm not here to play small. I'm here to architect complete freedom.
